Ginger Paste

Ginger paste is a convenient, ready-to-use condiment made by blending fresh ginger rhizomes into a smooth, thick consistency, often with a small amount of oil and salt. It is a staple in many cuisines, used to add a warm, pungent, and slightly spicy flavor to curries, stir-fries, marinades, soups, and even tea.

Directions

Wash the ginger thoroughly under running water to remove all dirt.

Dry each piece thoroughly using a clean cloth or paper towel.

You can peel the ginger if you want.

Cut the ginger into small pieces.

Add the pieces of ginger and, if desired, the salt and sunflower oil to a blender bowl and blend until you obtain a smooth paste.

You can store the paste in the refrigerator in a glass jar. It will stay fresh for 3 to 5 days. You can also freeze it in reusable silicone ice cube trays. Each compartment can hold about a tablespoon. The frozen ginger will keep for 3 months.
