Sun-Dried Peaches

Dried Peaches are a nutrient-dense, chewy, and sweet snack produced by removing moisture from fresh, ripe peaches via dehydration or sun-drying. Rich in fiber, potassium, and antioxidants, they provide a sustained energy boost, supporting digestive and heart health. They are commonly used in trail mixes, cereals, and baked goods.

Directions

Remove the pit from each peach and cut them into thin slices (5 mm).

In a large bowl, pour the water and lemon juice and mix well.

Put inside the peach slices. This will prevent them from browning.

Drain them.

Place the peaches on a baking sheet.

Cover your peaches with insect netting to prevent insects from getting in.

Place the peaches in a sunny, well-ventilated spot for a few days, depending on the humidity and amount of sunlight. Raise the trays about a meter off the ground to promote air circulation and faster drying. Do not leave them outside overnight, as the evening chill could cause them to absorb moisture again.

Ready when they are dry.

Place in an airtight container.

You can use dried peaches during your hikes or in energy bars, muesli, on pies, for jams, muffins, cookies, cakes, salads, etc.
