Directions

Peel the pears, remove the core and cut them into thin slices.

In a large bowl, pour the water and lemon juice and mix well.

Put inside the pears slices. This will prevent them from browning.

Drain them.

Place the pears on a baking sheet.

Sprinkle the pears with cinnamon powder.

Cover your pears with an insect net to prevent insects from getting in.

Place the pears in a sunny, well-ventilated spot for a few days, depending on the humidity and amount of sunlight. Raise the trays about a meter off the ground to promote air circulation and faster drying. Do not leave them outside overnight, as the evening chill could cause them to absorb moisture again.

Ready when they are dry, but still slightly soft.

Place in an airtight container.

You can use dried pears during your hikes or in energy bars, muesli, on pies, for jams, muffins, cookies, cakes, salads, etc.
