Directions

Heat the water (but not too hot) and pour it into a bowl.

Add the yeast and mix. The water should not be too hot, otherwise it will kill the yeast.

Add the whole wheat flour and mix.

Add the salt and mix.

Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 250 degrees for 30 minutes.

If making multiple loaves, cut the dough into equal portions.

Prepare the bread by kneading each piece and forming it into a ball. Use white flour on the work surface. Place it on a baking sheet.

Cover and let stand for 30 minutes. Check if the bread rises.

Place the bread in the oven and bake at 250 degrees for 20 minutes.

Reduce the temperature to 220 degrees and cook for another 20 minutes.
