Tomato Chutney is a versatile, tangy, and spicy condiment originating from the Indian subcontinent, where it is a staple side dish that pairs exceptionally well with grilled meats, cheese boards, momos, pakodas and sandwiches.

Directions

Finely chop the tomatoes and the garlic cloves.

Chop the coriander leaves into small pieces.

Heat the oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, add the garlic cloves.

When the garlic is golden, add the spices (turmeric powder, cumin powder and red chili powder) and the tomatoes. Mix well. Let it cook for 8 minutes.

Add the salt and the coriander leaves. Mix well. Cook for another 1 minute.

Blend the contents of the sauce to obtain a puree, adding 2 tablespoons of water.

Ready! Enjoy your chutney with aloo parutha, pakoras, momos, breads, rice-based dishes, meats, fish, chowmein or wraps.
