Directions

Finely chop the garlic if you want to make garlic naan.

Put the sugar, the yeast, the milk, the plain yogurt (or curd), the water and the salt in a bowl and mix everything together.

Once the mixture is smooth, add the flour. Knead for 12 to 15 minutes to form a soft dough. If the dough is sticky and there is no flour left on your fingers, it is ready.

Cover the dough for 1 to 2 hours and let it rest in a warm place (the dough should rise and double in size).

Once the dough is ready, make balls of identical sizes.

Brush the balls with oil.

Take a ball and roll it out. Shape it into an oval and measure 1 to 2 mm thick.

To make garlic naan, spread the garlic over the surface. Roll it with a rolling pin to incorporate the garlic into the dough.

Heat a pan without adding oil.

Cook your your naan for 1 to 2 minutes. Bubbles should form.

Cook the second side of the naan.

Then remove the naan and cook it directly on the heat for 1 minute.

Ready! Enjoy! You can enjoy it with butter paneer masala, butter chicken, or any other curry dish.

If you want a buttery naan, simply spread butter on one side.
